Discussion. So I’ve been seeing a lot of “FakeX” comments on the StockX IG page and have heard the criticism for a while. I don’t have much experience buying from StockX but I have sold a lot through them. I was wondering if anyone has had bad experiences with authenticity. Not accidents or torn boxes but actual fakes getting sold .
If you buy from StockX, there is a possibility of getting reps/fakes. The worse part is they won’t help you if you have any issues. They will do their best to make you go away. If you sell on StockX, there is a chance of your item getting lost/damaged and they will do their best to make you go away without compensation. I've bought and sold well over 100 times on StockX with no issues. However, I do have an issue with their increasing fees and I have moved to Ebay. Some people have received fakes from StockX, but that is a concern with every entity that isn't the original retailer. Stockx sold me fake shoes. Problem. Bought a pair of Jordan 7 Greater China. Once in hand I was so overwhelmed with the details I didn't really take a close look. Upon further examination I noticed the right shoe was totally different than the left. Don’t buy shoes from Stockx if you’re going to automatically ask if they fake. Yes there are fakes of most shoes but Jordan 3 Dark iris is not really a hype shoe so people probably not going out their way to sell a fake. Fake factories aren’t making 1:1 version of a non hype shoe so a fake of this shoe would be obvious for Stockx to tell. If you’re trying to buy something particularly hyped and limited, I would poke around on r/repsneakers and see how good the fakes of them have gotten. First and foremost stockX doesn’t sell anything.
