Hermes acting as a sort of "uncle" to Bell . What he did in LN 11, was for the better. If Bell became hated by the people and loved by the monsters Bell would not be able to do what he should. What Hermes did was a shitty thing but now Bell is Hero of monsters and people, so it turned out for the better. Bell needs to be the Hero that's his task he needs to save the world from the OEBD.

Hermes, like all the gods who came down to the lower world in Danmachi, isn't simply "bad" or "good". Even that god from Evilus hermes talked to was more doing it for entertainment than actually being straight up evil. Just like humans they can get bored and seek entertainment. Hermes wants a hero just like Haruhime for example. Cautious and distrustful. That's exactly how you're supposed to feel about Hermes, conflicted. An incredibly likable person who does heinous things to the point even Bell can't forgive him. He's a likeable asshole. He's a total dick, but he is the kind you'd totally want to go have a beer with at the end of the day. So Hermes is not fucking useful at all. His only purpose in DanMachi is to be Zeus's pathetic messenger boy. In DanMachi Volume 17. He claims to be making up for what he did in the Xenos Arc. But he's only doing it so he can build their trust again so he can force Bell to follow his so called divine will.
Hermes did say something along those lines at the end of season1 episode 12 after Bell won. So it makes me think that Bell is related to Zues somehow. Just my opinion nothing more.
