In 1910, a Rolex wristwatch was the first in the world to attain the Swiss Certificate of Chronometric Precision in Bienne. Yet, Hans Wilsdorf had his eye on a bigger prize – the Kew test. Four years later, Rolex sent a small ladies’ wristwatch to the Kew Observatory for testing and it was awarded the “Class A” certification on July 15 .

Rolex is celebrating, in 2016, the 90 years of the Oyster, the first waterproof and dustproof wristwatch in the world. It was an innovation that transformed watch design forever. Hoping to get some idea on the value of my vintage Rolex Oyster Royalite Observatory. I've attached some images below, the watch is going in for a restoration and service (the vintage look will be retained post-work).
