Now, shortly prior to the unveiling of the brand’s latest pieces at Watches & Wonders 2021, we caught up with him once again.
After a successful seven-year stint running Roger Dubuis, Jean-Marc Pontroué was elevated to the top job at Officine Panerai, not just a far larger brand but one of the most significant in the landscape for its influence and popularity. Well, Florentine-slanted nautical watchmaker Panerai is taking a more extreme approach. “We wanted to offer our customers something that goes beyond just buying a watch,” explains Jean-Marc Pontroué. “To allow them to experience the Panerai DNA and test their watch in the most extreme conditions.”.
